Malpas Under 11's have been crowned Champions of the Chirk 7 a side tournament.
They started off none too brightly, losing their first two games. They did, however, show a never say died attitude and won their third game 4-0 to qualify as runners up to Marchwiel.
They won the semi final on penalties with 'keeper Lloyd Chesters saving 3 penalty kicks.
In the final they met their earlier vanquishers, Marchwiel, but with a Tom Lightfoot goal carried away the prize.
