Reception/Yr 1/Yr2 Mini Soccer
Malpas Junior Football Club run a mini soccer training session every Saturday during the school term at the Malpas Football Club (Click Here for Directions). This is for girls and boys that are in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 classes and everyone is welcome. If your child is Year 3, please refer to the Under 8's page
The 2009/10 season will start on Saturday 12th September.
The session starts promptly at 9.15 and lasts for approximately 1 hour unless the coaches get over excited and it goes on a few minutes longer. We will try to split the groups into the 3 ages ranges subject to availability of coaches and the number of children who turn up.
The Coaches are usually qualified FA Coaches who were normal dad's only a few months ago, so if you want to get involved as a parent in ANY capacity we would be delighted.
What do I need to bring?
- Children should wear suitable foot wear (either trainers to start with but soon into the season they will need football boots).
- Children will need a pair of shin pads
- Suitable coat / hat / gloves (no one is happy if they are cold)
- A drink
Do I need to join before my child trains?
No. Please come along for a few sessions and see if your child enjoys it. It often takes several weeks before they are used to it and want to join in fully. Don't worry about this, lots of us have been through this encouragement phase.
After a few sessions, we will take you details and provide you with a membership form.
How much does the Membership Cost?
A full years membership (including a compulsory £10 membership of Malpas Sports and Social Club) is £48. If you are already a member of the Malpas Sport and Social Club, there is a £10 deduction. Please ask for a membership form from one of the coaches if you wish to join.
** Update 24th November 2009 **
Over the next few week we will be arranging a number of friendly football matches with other clubs. As I am sure you can appreciate we have a large number of children in our Year 1 group and therefore it will not be possible for every child to play in the natches. What I propose is to rotate all the children in the year group to ensure every child has the opportunity to play if they wish.
The first of these games will take place on Saturday 5th December. Kick off time will be 11 am. Training will happen as normal but for those children involved in the game they can arrive at 10.30 for a pre-match warm up.
We also have the opportunity for a goal keeping coach to visit which I am hoping will happen next week on the 28th November
Thank you for your continued support
