Welcome to Malpas & District JFC - Season 2020/21

Updated 02 December 2020

The ending of the UK Government's Lockdown arrangements at 12:01 on Wednesday 2 December and approval of the FA's plans to re-start grassroots football means that football training and matches can commence from this point forward. Updated Guidance has been published on the FA website and is available to download from our site by clicking here.

Cheshire West & Chester is currently a Tier 2 area.

All parents, players, spectators and coaches must follow the guidance issued by the FA and the Club - it is a legal requirement to do so.

All players / parents have signed consent and Code of Conduct for the 2020/21 season acknowledging that this
season is taking place during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Please note that the Malpas & District JFC COVID19-Safe Risk Assessment has been reviewed and updated as of 2 December 2020 (version 5.0 available here)

05 November 2020

As a result of the UK Government's decision to implement a Lockdown in England from 5 November 2020 until 2 December 2020, the FA, County FA and C&DJLF have all confirmed that this means a suspension of all grassroots football during this period. There will therefore be no training or matches for Malpas & District JFC.

We will update as best we can during the next few weeks and hopefully be in a position to reconvene training and matches, when safe to do so, which will be no earlier than Thursday 3rd December.

Please stay safe

****IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING WELSH GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCEMENT OF LOCAL LOCKDOWN & FIRE-BREAK MEASURES IN NE WALES*****

Due to Malpas' location on the Wrexham / Cheshire Border the decision to place Wrexham (and other NE Wales counties) into local lockdowns from 6pm on 1 October 2020, and then into Fire-break Measures from 23 October 2020 has implications for a number of our valued players and families.

Unfortunately, to ensure public safety and compliance with guidance and indeed the law, the Club must ask that players living in Wrexham County Borough do not attend training or matches, whilst the measures are in place. This is not a decision that has been taken lightly and we are desperately sorry that some boys are now unable to play football with their friends but we need to play our part in controlling this virus and compliance with the FA Guidance and Government legislation is absolutely necessary.

Please note that as of 23 September 2020,  ALL COVID-SECURE GUIDELINES ARE NOW LEGAL OBLIGATIONS, WITH WHICH EVERYONE MUST ADHERE. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN FINES AS THE PRIME MINISTER SET OUT IN HIS SPEECH TO THE HOUSE OF COMMONS.

A letter explaining this position and which contains a link to the Gov.wales website is provided below.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back as soon as possible!

As a result, the Club's Risk Assessment has been revised, and is available here

Hello Everyone! The new season is underway with some significant differences!

As you will all be aware there has been no grassroots football allowed to take place since March 2020 when the country was placed in lockdown.

In line with Government legislation and guidance, the FA has developed its re-start plans which mean that grassroots football can commence in earnest from September 2020.

The FA's September COVID-19 / FAQ Update can be read here.

The priority is player and family safety and comprehensive guidance on how Clubs should prepare and deliver training and matches has been produced by the FA and adopted into Club Policies.

It is important that all parties play their part in creating a safe environment for our young players to enjoy their football and it must be appreciated that this will look very different to seasons gone by.

Medical Screening in Junior Football

The FA require all clubs to maintain awareness about the impact of Asthma on young players in the game. At the start of each season Coaches will seek confirmation about the presence / absence of Asthma (and related conditions) within their squads and will act on this information to ensure inhalers are available as per our policy
On 25th May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) came into force. The Club is required to hold and process some personal information relating to its players, parents and coaches in order to provide a safe, effective and compliant Football Club environment.
